Blomberg was a manufacturer of household appliances in Ahlen / Westphalia. Founded in 1883 as a metalworking company, Blomberg began manufacturing washing machines in 1949 ; more household appliances followed.

After Blomberg took over the Austrian Elektra Bregenz GmbH in 1978, the company was taken over several times, for example in 1994 by the Italian EL.FI.-Group. In 1994 it was assigned to the French Groupe Brandt and - after their bankruptcy in 2002 - was acquired by the Turkish Arçelik A.Ş., a subsidiary of the Koç group of companies. Blomberg is currently an Arçelik brand, whose products are distributed by Beko Deutschland GmbH.

The Blomberg device production - like that of Elektra Bregenz GmbH - was outsourced to Arçelik in Istanbul . At first the Blomberg Werke GmbH remained at the Ahlen site as the development department and the Blomberg Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH.
