Elektra Bregenz is a former in Austria producing household appliances manufacturer based in Vienna .
Company history
Elektra Bregenz was in 1898 by Friedrich Wilhelm Schindler in Bregenz founded.
In 1948, the company launched the first electric stove with thermostatic temperature control of the oven and in 1950 the production of refrigerators began. 1965 Elektra Bregenz was in the group Asea Brown Boveri incorporated.
In 1972 the company received the state award and has been allowed to use the federal coat of arms in business transactions ever since . In 1981 the company had 456 employees and achieved sales of 620 million schillings (approx. 47 million euros ). In 1985 the Tirolia works in Schwaz were taken over by Elektra Bregenz and the location was relocated from Vorarlberg to Tyrol.
Around 1990 Austria Email AG took over the electrical hot water technology (brand name: EHT ) from Elektra Bregenz and gave the hot water storage tank basic models the well-known type and brand name EHT .
The company was the Turkish 2002 Arçelik - Group adopted. In 2003 the company moved to Vienna , production in Austria was completely discontinued and it was relocated to other Arçelik production sites.
