Under the title Blood & Smoke , Stephen King published three short stories specially written for this purpose (audio book) in 2000 , which he also read out himself. In terms of content, the stories are loosely connected by the addiction of smoking; hence the presentation of the audio book as a cigarette pack. The stories are Lunch at Gotham Café , 1408, and In the Cabinet of Death . Available in German translation as Blut und Rauch .

Short story collection and film project

The stories are now part of the short story collection In the Cabinet of Death .

The film version of 1408 was filmed as Zimmer 1408 with John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson and was released in German cinemas in September 2007 .
