Bloodfeast is an Austrian death metal band founded in 1997 .

history

The band was founded in 1997 in Deutschlandsberg in Styria, Austria as a school band. The musicians were 15 years old at the time, which is why the band was also Austria's youngest death metal band. The only remaining founding member is the singer and guitarist Wolf “BloodHead” Rauch, because the band suffered from casting difficulties, especially in the early years. However, several demos were recorded by 2003 .

In 2005, the debut album Autophobia was released under the line-up Wolf “BloodHead” Rauch, “James Blood”, “Ghandi” and “Gatti” on the Austrian label Phil Hauser Music (PH-Music for short). The label's founder was friends with Wolf Rauch, so Bloodfeast was one of the first bands he signed with his newly founded independent label .

Bassist “Ghandi” and drummer “Gatti” were then replaced by “Lutte” and “Da Vite”. However, the latter is not yet heard on the second album Mea Culpa , which was released in February 2009. The album was mixed by Martin Schirenc (ex- Pungent Stench ) in the Vata Loco Studio in Vienna . The band released a music video for the title "Shit-zophrenic" . It is unusual that Bloodfeast enforce their English lyrics with German phrases, because Wolf Rauch can express himself better in his native German.

In May 2010, drummer "Da Vite" announced that he was leaving the band. Reasons for this have not yet been given. For the upcoming concerts he will help out the band until a replacement is found.
