Blues Alley

The Blues Alley is a renowned jazz club founded in 1965 on Wisconsin Avenue in Washington, DC with a daily program and is considered the preferred venue in Washington for nationally and internationally known jazz musicians.

Recordings of live performances have been published by Eva Cassidy , Dizzy Gillespie , Tommy Gwaltney , Ahmad Jamal , Pat Martino , Hod O'Brien , George Shearing , Joshua Redman and Wynton Marsalis , among others .

In 1985 the Blues Alley Jazz Society was founded together with Dizzy Gillespie to train and support local musicians.
