The Görlitzer Flower Clock is located in the city of Goerlitz on the Demianiplatz outside the main entrance of the theater . It was created when the green area was redesigned around the neighboring Kaisertrutz . The city horticultural director Henry Kraft was in charge of the design of the green area .

The planting of the flower clock started with the filling of a hill for the construction of a small bunker. A technical room was set up inside the bunker. The clock in neo-baroque style was driven by an electric motor that was mechanically coupled to the clockwork via a linkage . The hands and numbers made of galvanized sheet metal stand on the carpet of flowers. Master watchmaker Seidel, master locksmith Gebauer, graphic artist Nitsche and master stone sculptor Däunert were involved in the creation of the clock. The latter took on the gilding of the hands and numbers. The flower clock was handed over on August 9, 1960. The clockwork was looked after by the watchmaker Goeldner for decades.

Due to its age and external damage, the flower clock was stopped in 1997. Thanks to the financial support of the action group for Görlitz, the company Hahn from Zwickau was able to renew the clockwork and drive as well as the control and the power supply in 1998. The flower clock was equipped with a master clock including a radio receiver, which enables an exact time indication. More stable hands and a slip clutch on the clockwork should protect the clock from external damage. In April 2000 there was again damage from vandalism. In 2007 an automatic pointer correction was set up.
