Antihypertensive drug
Antihypertensive drugs (plural: antihypertensive drugs) and antihypertensive drugs (plural: antihypertensive drugs) are collective terms for antihypertensive drugs that are used in medicine to treat arterial hypertension or hypertensive crisis .
The most important groups of active ingredients are:
- Inhibitors of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system : ACE inhibitors , AT 1 antagonists ( sartans ), aldosterone antagonists
- Diuretics ( water tablets) : thiazide diuretics (+ ENaC blockers), loop diuretics
- Inhibitors of calcium influx on the heart muscle: calcium antagonists of the non-dihydropyridine type, β₁-selective beta blockers
- Vasodilators : calcium antagonists of the dihydropyridine type, non-selective beta blockers , urapidil , clonidine , nitroglycerin , prazosin , dihydralazine , minoxidil .
