The Johannisloge Boanerges zur Bruderliebe is a Masonic lodge in Hamburg .

founding

The lodge was founded in 1832 by the then Provincial Grand Master, the pastor and later General Superintendent of Oldenburg , Ernst Gottfried Adolf Böckel . It has matriculation number 317.

Famous members

  • Ernst Tristan Kurtzahn (born November 29, 1879 in Königsberg, † 1939 in Hamburg) was a shipbuilding engineer, teacher, freemason at the Johannis Lodge Boanerges zur Bruderliebe, member of the Ordo Templi Orientis, author, Kabbalist and tarot researcher.
  • Johann Heinrich Felix Sonnenkalb (* 1855) lived in Hamburg, admitted to the "Boanerges" lodge in Hamburg (Great State Lodge) in 1873, and was one of the most thorough experts in the prehistory of Freemasonry in England and the fraternal preliminary stages of Freemasonry.
