Boatin Island (English; Bulgarian остров Боатин ostrow Boatin ) is a north-south orientation 740 m long, 150 m wide and rocky island off the northwest coast of Robert Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is between Clothier Harbor and Nevestino Cove . The island is connected to Robert Island by a 250 m long tombolo and ends in the T-shaped Hammer Point . The island was formed as a result of the retreat of the Robert Island ice cap in the early 21st century .
The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2013 after the Boatin nature reserve in the Bulgarian Balkan Mountains .
