Bob B. Soxx & The Blue Jeans were an American singing group in the early 1960s .

history

The group was one of many created by producer Phil Spector . In 1962 he “discovered” the singers Darlene Love and Fanita James in Los Angeles . First, he let Darlene Love sing the lead vocal on the Crystals recording He's A Rebel . The song, written by Gene Pitney , became a hit.

Then he formed the band Bob B. Soxx & The Blue Jeans with Bobby Sheen . The name was a play on words , because Bobbysocks were the socks that American girls wore at the time.

First, the trio recorded the song Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah from the Walt Disney film Song of the South from 1947. It became a hit. The group didn't have that much success with the next two numbers and quickly disappeared into oblivion. Her tracks were all produced by Phil Spector, arranged by Jack Nitzsche and released on the Philles Records label. After the group broke up, Darlene Love attempted a solo career.
