Bob Bartholomew (basketball player)

Bob Bartholomew is a retired American basketball player .

Life

Bartholomew played at Kearny High School in California and from 1977 to 1981 for the University of San Diego team in the NCAA. During this time, the 2.03-meter-tall winger scored 1,394 points, placing him in second place on the university team's eternal basketball list in 1981, when he left the team. He took the same placement in the rebound category together with "Pinky" Smith , after both of them had secured 797 rebounding balls for San Diego. In the 1978/79, 1979/80 and 1980/81 seasons, Bartholomew led the team as the best scorer, his best average of the season was 15.4 points per encounter (scored 1979/80). In the 1981 draft of the NBA , the San Antonio Spurs secured the rights to Bartholomew in the eighth selection round. In the end, he never played in the NBA, but went to Germany for the 1981/82 season, where he played in the basketball Bundesliga for MTV Wolfenbüttel  .
