James Rudkin

James Rudkin (born July 7, 1994 ) is a British rower .

Career

Rudkin finished fifth with the British four-man without a helmsman at the U23 World Championships in 2014. The following year, he and Thomas George finished fourth in the two-man without a helmsman . In 2016 Rudkin and George together with James Johnston and Lewis McCue won the silver medal in the foursome behind the boat from Austria.

In 2017 Rudkin switched to the British eighth and with this finished fifth at the European Championships on the Račice rowing channel . Four months later, at the 2017 World Championships in Sarasota, the British won the B final and finished seventh in the total. Also in 2018 at the European Championships in Glasgow, the British eighth finished fifth. The 2018 World Championships in Plovdiv took place just a month and a half after the European Championships. The British eighth with James Rudkin, Alan Sinclair , Tom Ransley , Thomas George, Mohamed Sbihi , Oliver Wynne-Griffith , Matthew Tarrant , William Satch and helmsman Henry Fieldman took third place behind the Germany eight and the Australians. In 2019 at the European Championships in Lucerne, the British eight started with Thomas Ford , James Rudkin, Thomas George, Mohamed Sbihi, Jacob Dawson , Oliver Wynne-Griffith, Matthew Tarrant, Josh Bugajski and Henry Fieldman. The British won the silver medal behind the Germany eight and ahead of the Dutch. At the world championships, the Germans won ahead of the Dutch and the British.
