Bobby Smith (soccer player, 1951)
Bob Smith (born March 29, 1951 ) is a retired American football player who played as a defender.
Bobby Smith grew up in Trenton , New Jersey and attended Steinert High School in Hamilton Township , Mercer County . After high school he attended Rider University in Lawrenceville from 1969 to 1972, where he also played soccer.
Smith played from 1973 in the NASL ( North American Soccer League ). He moved to Cosmos New York in 1976 . There he played with Franz Beckenbauer and Pelé .
Smith played 18 games for the US national team .
Smith is married with four children. Today he runs a football school in Trenton.
