System of ravines at the confluence of the street from Hardtknippen into the street Hardt

The Hardt underground monument ravine system extends from the Milchborntal through the Hardt forest in an easterly direction to the level of Hardtknippen in the Herkenrath district of Bergisch Gladbach in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis .

description

There are two path systems, each consisting of four individual ravines. Coming north-west of Moitzfeld from the Milchborntal, they continue in a north-easterly direction and meet at the Hardtknippen / Hardt fork in the road. You can see deeply cut lanes, in places three to four meters wide. These are medieval trade routes that came from Deutz or Mülheim and continued via Kürten towards Wipperfürth .

The ravines are important for the economic and social history of the Bergisches Land as well as for the scientific research of the traffic engineering development of the medieval early modern trade routes. Accordingly, there is a public interest in their preservation.
