Bodo Hollemann

Bodo Hollemann (born October 16, 1940 ) is a German sports functionary and local politician in Hanover . On March 8, 2010 he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany on ribbon for his services. Professionally, he served as a detective in Hanover.

Sports

At the age of eleven he became a member of the swimming club Water Sports Friends of 1898 Hanover .

From 1976 to 1987 Hollemann was chairman of the water polo division of the German Swimming Association (DSV) and then from 1987 to 1991 President of the German Swimming Association. On September 7, 1991, he resigned as president.

In 2003 Bodo Hollemann was elected next to Manfred Haas as the first chairman of the Association of the Swimming Association and has been active as chairman since (as of 2017).

politics

Until 2006, Hollemann was active in Hanoverian local politics for 20 years, first as a member of the District Council Bothfeld-Vahrenheide and later as a member of the City Council of Hanover. At times he held the chairmanship of the CDU parliamentary group. From 1996 to 2006 was on the supervisory board of Stadtwerke Hannover and chairman of the finance committee, from 1996 to 2001 also on the supervisory board of GBH (construction company of the city of Hannover)
