Bofaxe

The Bofaxe are an information service managed by the Institute for Peacekeeping Law and Humanitarian Law (IFHV) of the Ruhr University Bochum , which is supported by the German Red Cross (DRK). It is a series of more than 480 short articles, which has existed since January 1991, with comments on topics of international humanitarian law and related aspects from other areas of international law as well as constitutional and criminal law . Until 2005 they were usually published in parallel in German and English ; since 2006 they have been published alternately in one of the two languages.

The consecutively numbered articles each have a size of one A4 page and are published irregularly, often with reference to specific current events or court decisions. You are on the website of the IFHV as a PDF file freely available and are particularly aimed at in the field of international humanitarian law active legal scholars , to the Convention representatives of the DRC, as well as to other interested people. Since autumn 2002, the Bofaxes have also been sent by e-mail via a mailing list to currently around 1,400 recipients in around 100 countries.
