Bogusław Kowalski

Bogusław Kowalski (born October 23, 1964 in Mircze ) is a Polish politician , former member of the Sejm in the V. and VI . Elected term (2005–2011), former State Secretary in the Ministry of Transport in the Jarosław Kaczyński government , former chairman of the Ruch Ludowo-Narodowy party (People's National Movement - RLN) from 2007 to 2011.

He finished his studies in history at the University of Warsaw . In the 1990s he was editor-in-chief of the weekly Myśl Polska (Polish Thought), which was associated with the right-wing extremist Stronnictwo Narodowo-Demokratieyczne (National Democratic Party SND). He was the actual chairman of the SND, whose nominal boss was Jan Tomasz Zamoyski . He worked closely with Lech Wałęsa and Tadeusz Wilecki in their respective presidential election campaigns (1995 and 2000). After that he led an insignificant break-up of the SND.

After 2001 he was a member of the Liga Polskich Rodzin (League of Polish Families - LPR) and headed various party structures, including the Powiat Miński . From 2002 to 2005 he was a member of the Sejmik of the Masovian Voivodeship and a member of the Voivodeship Council. In the 2005 parliamentary elections , he was elected to the Sejm for the Siedlce constituency via the LPR list.

In 2006 he left the LPR. He joined the Narodowe Koło Parlamentarne (National Parliamentary Circle). On September 22, 2006, he became the newly founded faction of the Ruch Ludowo-Narodowy (RLN), which, however, soon fell apart again. After December 18, 2006 he was a member of the Ruch Ludowo-Chrześcijański (People's Christian Movement - RLCh). In 2007, Ruch Ludowo-Narodowy was at the head of the Ruch Ludowo-Narodowy party, which was newly founded by some RLCh members. From May 23, 2006 to November 23, 2007 he was State Secretary in the Ministry of Transport. In the 2007 Sejm elections , he was confirmed as a member of parliament with 7,259 votes on the list of Prawo i Sprawiedliwość (Law and Justice - PiS). He is a member of the Sejm Commissions for Infrastructure and Foreign Affairs.

According to information published by the Instytut Pamięci Narodowej (Institute for National Remembrance - IPN) on December 4, 2007, Kowalski is registered by the state security service as an unofficial employee "Mieczysław" on February 4, 1987. On September 29, 2008, the IPN stated that after analyzing the archive material, no basis could be found for questioning Kowalski's lustration information .
