Boisgibault

Boisgibault (also Bois Gibault ) is a small French village in the municipality of Tracy-sur-Loire in the department of Nièvre in the region of Bourgogne Franche-Comté .

Boisgibault lies on the right bank of the Loire opposite Sancerre , it forms the center of Tracy-sur-Loire. The Mairie (town hall) of the municipality is in Boisgibault. They produce Pouilly-Fumé , a well-known white wine .

The Val de Loire nature reserve is located between La Charité-sur-Loire and Boisgibault. The area was created by Decree 95-1240 of November 21, 1995. The Loire is a very dynamic river, it leaves sand behind, creating islands that are carried away to other places. Dragonflies, 30 species of fish, 190 species of birds, beavers and 477 species of plants can be seen on the sand deposits and tree-lined islands.
