Bolesław Fotygo-Folański

Bolesław Fotygo-Folański (born May 15, 1883 in Warsaw , † December 29, 1954 in Katowice ) was a Polish actor, opera singer and director.

Folański completed a ballet training in Warsaw from 1892 to 1895 and was then a singer in the choir of the Warsaw Opera Theaters until 1901. From 1908 to 1913 he appeared under the name Fotygo in Poznan, 1914 in Warsaw and 1915 in Lviv as a theater actor. From 1918 to 1920 he was director of the opera and operetta house in Lemberg.

After engagements at the Teatr Nowości (1921-22) and Teatr Stańczyk (1922) in Warsaw and the Teatr Wielki in Vilnius, he was an opera and operetta director at the Teatr Wielki in Poznan from 1923 to 1930 . In this function he then worked in Lemberg (1930–31), Toruń (1933–34) and Bydgoszcz (1934–35). After the war he worked as a director in Krakow in 1945, in Łódź from 1946–47 and from 1948 at the Silesian Opera in Bytom.
