The Official State Gazette (short BOE , German National Office Bulletin ), the legislative and the Official Journal of the Spanish state .

history

In 1661, Gaceta was the first newspaper to appear in Madrid. Since 1697 it appeared under the title Gaceta de Madrid . In 1762 the Spanish crown took over the publication of the Gaceta , which also made the paper an official information sheet. In 1836 it was determined that laws, ordinances, decrees, etc. are to be published in the Gaceta . From 1886 the Gaceta was only a legal and official gazette and since then has no longer contained a news section. During the Spanish Civil War , the publication of the Second Republic was entitled Gaceta de la República , while that of the coup plotters appeared as Boletín Oficial del Estado . After the victory of the Franco regime , this title was retained. From 1961 the paper was called Boletín Oficial del Estado - Gaceta de Madrid . This title was retained even after Spain's transition to democracy . Since 1987 the paper has been called simply Boletín Oficial del Estado again .

content

The BOE not only publishes laws, regulations of the Spanish state and international agreements concluded by it. Rather, the content also includes the laws passed by the Autonomous Communities . The BOE also publishes decisions by the Constitutional Court, appointments and dismissals of certain state officials (including e.g. the Prime Minister and the ministers) and judges, job advertisements and other sovereign acts if their publication in the BOE is legally stipulated. In addition, public notifications and notifications can be effected by publication in the BOE. The BOE thus roughly fulfills the function of the Federal Law Gazette and Federal Gazette in Germany.

The wording of the provisions published in the BOE is binding.
