The Bolnissi cross is a Christian cross symbol that appears in Georgia for the first time at the end of the 5th century at the Bolnissi Sioni Church in Bolnissi in the Niederkartlien region (Kwemo Kartli) . It is said to have come from Emperor Constantine the Great .

Today the Bolnisi cross is used very often by the Georgian Orthodox Church , along with the cross of Saint Nino ( vine cross ).
