Bona (noble family)

Nobile and Marchese de Bona (or pl. Bunić ) are a very old family that has lived in Dubrovnik or Ragusa and the kk hereditary lands for nine centuries , whose origins are likely to be found in France. The noble family was first mentioned in Dubrovnik in 1023.

Imperial knighthood (ad personam) in Vienna on September 9, 1535 for Hieronymus de Bona , the envoy of the Republic of Ragusa in Vienna.

Michael de Bona and his son Lucas de Bona received for themselves and their descendants on April 12, 1754 from the Polish King August III. the title of Margrave , which was entered in the registry of the Republic of Ragusa on May 4, 1766.
