Rue DeBona

Rue DeBona (* 7. March 1976 in Glen Rock , New Jersey as Ruthann DeBona ) is an American singer , actress and presenter .

Life

Ruthan DeBona competed in talent shows as a child and as a teenager. She won the Miss Junior America and Miss Junior Talent titles in beauty and talent competitions, and was a finalist on the first version of Star Search , which ran in the United States between 1983 and 1998. In 1989, at the age of just 13, she was cast for the girl group Boy Krazy , where she performed under the pseudonym Ruth Ann Roberts together with four other singers and dancers. The band had their first hit in 1993 with the song That's What Love Can Do. The single reached number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 . However, after the release of their only self-titled album in 1993, the band broke up. Despite a deal with Atlantic Records , her solo career then fizzled out.

She then went on television under her maiden name Rue DeBona. She appeared as an interviewer for World Wrestling Entertainment . She also hosted the 2003 show WWE Afterburn . In 2004 she terminated her contract. She can currently be seen as a presenter on the Italian American Network .

Rue DeBona has also had several guest roles on television, including the television series Law & Order , The Sopranos and Chaos City, as well as minor roles in feature films such as Love the Hard Way (2001) and Inside Man (2006).

She was married to WWE presenter Josh Mathews from November 2006 to 2008.
