Boy Krazy was a short-lived girl group from New York City , which existed from 1991 to 1993. It is considered a one-hit wonder .
Band history
Boy Krazy initially consisted of singers and dancers from Kimberly Blake, Josselyne Jones, Johnna Lee Cummings, Ruth Ann Roberts, who was just 14, and Renée Veneziale. The band was put together by the British production team Stock Aitken Waterman . The debut single That’s What Love Can Do was released in 1991, but initially failed to make it into the charts. Shortly thereafter, Renée Veneziale left the band.
Her self-titled debut album was released in 1993. A video for That's What Love Can Do was also produced. The newly released single reached number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 . Another single called Good Times With Bad Boys reached number 58. The album missed the charts. For Stock Aitken Waterman it should be the last hit. Shortly afterwards the group broke up.
While Ruth Ann Roberts switched to the television business under her maiden name Rue DeBona , only Johnna Lee Cummings managed to stay in the music business. She released her solo album Pride in 1996 , but it was only moderately successful. The Boy Krazy album was re-released in 2010 as a special expanded edition via Rough Trade and supplemented with unreleased songs and the B-sides of the singles (various remixes).
