Life

Lomberger started his career as a candidate for WWE Tough Enough , where he finished third after Maven and Nidia . As a wrestler, he then tried in some independent leagues, especially at Jimmy Harts Xcitement Wrestling Federation .

Eventually he was signed to WWE in 2002. There he took the name Josh Mathews. He made his first appearance as a backstage interviewer on Smackdown and as a spokesperson for WWE Velocity . He was also the successor to the presenter Kevin Kelly on the radio show Byte This . He then had some sections on the WWE official website and was a moderator at WWE Afterburn .

In 2004 he made appearances as a wrestler for Smackdown after John "Bradshaw" Layfield (JBL) slapped him when he didn't show enough respect for his protégé Orlando Jordan . So he feuded together with Booker T against Orlando Jordan and JBL. He made an appearance at the 2004 Survivor Series , where he tried to help Booker T.

He was then a frequent host on WWE Heat and hosted various WWE Pay-Per-View pre-shows. He also replaced Todd Grisham at WWE Raw while the latter was in charge of the ECW shows. In the 2008 presidential campaign he appeared together with Candice Michelle as the official representative of the WWE at the nomination party conferences. This was to mobilize WWE fans as voters.

As of April 7, 2009, he became the new ECW presenter after Tazz left WWE. His partner was Matt Striker . After the closure of the ECW, he took over the role of moderator at NXT . On December 10, 2009, he moved to WWE Smackdown and was replaced by William Regal .

In 2010, he took over the moderation of some WWE raw shows, since Jerry Lawler was back as a wrestler. Among other things, he was allowed to moderate WrestleMania XXVII . He then became the official spokesperson for the Anonymous Raw General Manager in a storyline about managing the brand. In 2011 he hosted WWE Superstars with Matt Striker and from 2012 to 2013 on Saturday Morning Slam . On June 25, 2014, he was released from WWE.
