Bonlanden (desert)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bonlanden is a desert in the border area of the villages Weissach , Heimerdingen , Flacht and Rutesheim in Baden-Württemberg .

The place was in the valley southeast of Weissach near the source of the Schlupfbach. It was built between 650 and 750 as a Franconian development settlement. Documents from the years 1156 and 1177 name a grangie in Bonlanden as the property of Maulbronn Monastery . 1254 Bonlanden appears as a villa (village) near Weissach. In 1446 the Maulbronn Monastery bought 39 ¾ acres of forest "in the Mark zu Bonlanden". Further documentary mentions can be found in 1450 and 1461. It is unclear when the settlement fell into desolation. It still had its own mark in the middle of the 15th century and probably disappeared in the 16th century.
