Bontempi (musical instruments)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bontempi is an Italian manufacturer of keyboards and digital pianos founded in 1932 . The company is based in Potenza Picena , Province of Macerata , with branches in Starnberg and Bolligen .

In the 1970s and early 1980s, Bontempi was one of the leading suppliers of low-priced home organs and keyboards. Due to the boom of the Yamaha and Casio brands , however, the company was gradually pushed out of the market. Today Bontempi only produces keyboards in small numbers, which means that many of them have become collector's items.

Bontempi took over the Italian instrument manufacturers Farfisa and Paolo Soprani in 1987 and 1988 respectively . In 1989 the company had 1,500 employees.

The product focus today is on children's instruments.
