Company history

In 1863, Paolo Soprani and his brother Settimio founded a small workshop in which they developed and constructed together. Nine years later, his brother Settimio opened his own business, which was involved in the production of musical instruments on a larger scale. The name is an acronym for " FA bbriche R iunite de FISA rmoniche" (United Accordion Factories).

Over the years Farfisa SpA developed into a well-known company that produced electronic home organs in different price segments. The focus of development was in the area of smaller and portable devices. As a new image carrier, Farfisa published the top model Pergamon in 1981 , which, with a weight of almost 200 kilograms and a sales price of 16,000 DM, was in a new class and should bring the company better sales figures. Due to the enormous technical progress in digital technology , Farfisa posted declining sales figures and had to stop production after four years after the takeover by the Bontempi company in 1987.

Aci Farfisa was founded in 1993 as a new independent company operating in the video intercom, surveillance and telephony sectors.
