When the night is deepest… is the third studio album by the rock band Ton Steine Scherben , which was the last one before a six-year studio break. It shows the first signs of a change of genre , so away from the style of the song. Make broken what breaks you to the style of the song. Hold on to your love .

history

In the years from 1973 to 1974, Ton Steine Schherd had less and less desire to be the “political jukebox” of the left-wing scene. Finally, this also meant that you could only demand a “solidarity contribution” from the audience as entry, which was not a particularly good place to live. Thereupon the band distanced itself further and further from the squatter slogans, even if one remained true to the left ideology. Financial problems led to the breakup in 1973. The separation did not last long, but when the reunification the bassist Kai Sichtermann was missing . He was replaced by Gino Götz, who had already worked with the broken pieces on the children's radio play Teufel hast du Wind . In addition, there was still a lack of a drummer (on the album No Power for Nobody Olaf Lietzau mainly played the drums). The drummer that Ton Steine Sch towards Olaf Lietzau chose was Funky K. Götzner, who was born in Reichenberg near Würzburg . With this line-up, it was decided in early 1974 to produce a new LP.
