Sascha Wolf (born September 3, 1971 in Westerholt ) is a former German soccer player . In the course of his career, the striker was mainly under contract with district clubs .

Athletic career

Wolf comes from the youth of FC Rhade . He joined FC Schalke 04 in 1996 through DSC Wanne-Eickel , for whom he played as an amateur player in the second team. After drawing attention to himself with seven goals in seven games in the Oberliga Westfalen at the beginning of the 1998/99 season, he made his debut in the Bundesliga on October 2, 1998 when he played against VfL Wolfsburg in the 76th division .Minute of play was substituted on. For FC Schalke 04 he played 14 Bundesliga games with three goals by the end of the season.

For the 1999/00 season, Wolf moved to Rot-Weiss Essen , which had been promoted to the Regionalliga West / Südwest . With the club he managed to qualify for the two-track regional league at the end of the season. A year later he became the club's savior when he scored 15 goals this season and on the other hand, especially in the game against Eintracht Braunschweig on the last day of the game with a goal in the 89th minute, the team scored to keep the league. In the course of the following season he lost his regular place and was ultimately mainly active in the reserve team. When the club was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2004 , he left the team after 124 games and 45 goals.

Wolf joined local rivals Black and White Essen . From 2004 to 2008 he completed 128 league games for the ETB in the Oberliga Nordrhein , in which he scored 83 goals. Wolf was voted Player of the Season three times in a row by fans. For the 2008/09 season, Wolf moved to Fortuna Düsseldorf's second team . With the team he rose from the NRW League to the Regional League, but had hardly any appearances there due to injury. In the 2010/11 season he is under contract with the NRW league club Westfalia Herne as a player and assistant coach to Klaus Täuber . In March 2011 Klaus Täuber was replaced by the junior coach Uli Reimann. He brought his assistant trainer with him, so that Sascha Wolf also lost his job. Wolf has been an assistant coach at Vfb Günnigfeld in the regional league since summer 2016 .
