The FC Rhade (officially: Football Club black-green Rhade 1925 eV ) was a football club from the Dorsten neighborhood Rhade in the district of Recklinghausen . The first team took part in the DFB Cup once.

history

For years, the footballers of FC Rhade only played at the local level and in 1979 they made it to the Landesliga Westfalen . In the 1981/82 season, the team qualified for the DFB Cup and lost 2-0 in the first round at TuS Oberwinter , who played in the fourth-class Verbandsliga Rheinland at the time . In 1991 the team rose to the Association League Westphalia and reached sixth place in the 1991/92 promotion season. A year later, the Rhader were fifth, but missed the possible promotion to the Oberliga Westfalen in 1994 by lengths.

In 1998 the team was relegated from the association league and one year later became runner-up in Landesligagruppe 4 behind SC Hassel and identified two more promoted players in the association league Westphalia in a promotion round with the runners-up from the other four seasons. Thanks to the better goal difference, Rhade was able to prevail over TuS Jöllenbeck and rose together with FSC Rheda . After a tenth place in the 1999/2000 promotion season, relegation to the national league followed a year later. A year later, the club voluntarily withdrew its team to the district league, from which one had to relegate to the district league A after only one season. In the 2011/12 season, the club gave a short guest appearance in the district league.

In the 2000s, the women's team at FC Rhade celebrated successes. After promotions in 2005 and 2007, the team played in the national league. In 2012 he was promoted to the fourth-class Westfalenliga , before relegation followed two years later. The B-Juniors became Westphalian champions in 2011 and made it to the Regionalliga West . There they were runner-up behind Borussia Mönchengladbach two years later .

Successor club SSV Rhade

In 2014 FC Rhade merged with Sportfreunde Rhade to form SSV Rhade . The men's team competes in the district league B. The women's team rose to the Westfalenliga in 2019. The B-Juniors play in the Regionalliga West. SSV Rhade produced a Bundesliga player in Dörthe Hoppius .
