Britta Neander (born June 29, 1956 in Hamburg ; † December 14, 2004 in Berlin ) was a German musician and illustrator .

Growing up as the eldest daughter of journalist Joachim Neander, first in Hamburg and then in Rodgau near Frankfurt , she moved to Berlin as a teenager to join the alternative music scene. In 1979 she founded one of the first German women's rock bands: Carambolage . As a drummer and percussionist, she played with Rio Reiser in his band Ton Steine ​​Scherben until they broke up in 1985 and then with Reiser during his solo career. In 1988 she played together with her friend Christiane Rösinger in the band Lassie Singers and in 1997 founded the band Britta with Rösinger . Britta Neander released several CDs with both bands. She was the sister of Albrecht "Ali" Neander, guitarist of the rock band Rodgau Monotones .

In addition to music, Neander, mother of a daughter (AnayanA, singer and percussionist with Ton Steine ​​Scherben) also did a lot for children. She worked on a children's farm, painted, designed high-quality lead glass lamps and decorated many a pub in Berlin with large pictures. Britta Neander also illustrated children's books, for example the picture book Pick and Die kleine Wolke , made with Ruth Vogel, which was broadcast as a short film by ZDF in 1990 with an animation by Rudolf Rössner and music by Karl Heinz Schlösser .

Britta Neander died at the age of 48 after heart surgery in Berlin.
