Boogie Army was a German DJ and producer duo from Cologne and Ravensburg . The style of Boogie Army can be described with Nu-Skool Breaks , whereby the beat of many pieces is so straight that the affiliation to the breakbeat is no longer clear. All pieces of the formation are explicitly produced for the dance floor and are characterized by recurring themes and a classic dramaturgy . Boogie Army uses different genres such as electro and techno .
history
Marten Hørger and Captain Koma met for the first time in 2000. At first they acted together as breakbeat DJs and founded several party series, some of which still exist today. In 2004 their first single "Busta / Hypercrank" was released on the Berlin label Carepack Records , which immediately became one of the best-selling German break records of the year. This was followed by a collaboration with the Ingolstadt-based MC Unkle Massive ("Inside the Ride / Are U Party ?!"), which was named "Record of the Month" by the German music magazine Raveline .
Several remixes and tours to England , Ibiza and Russia followed . In addition, other singles appeared on Gene Poole Records and Barry Ashworth ( Dub Pistols ) label Westway Records . In August 2008 Boogie Army was on tour in Australia . Some time later the two members parted ways, but they are still active as DJs and producers.
