Boogie Island is a small and low island in the West Antarctic Palmer Archipelago . It is located 550 m west of Goudier Island in front of Wiencke Island .
Participants in the Fourth French Antarctic Expedition (1903-1905) under the direction of polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot carried out the first rough mapping in 1904. The island was measured and named together with Woogie Island in 1944 during the British Operation Tabarin . Both islands are named after the boogie-woogie- style swing music that was often heard on the radio at Operation Tabarin at Port Lockroy .
