The Singha beer brand from Boon Rawd Brewery

Boon Rawd Brewery ( Thai : บริษัท บุญรอด บ ริ ว เว อ รี่ จำกัด ) is the oldest brewery in Thailand. It was founded in 1933 by Boonrawd Srethabutra.

The Boon Rawd Brewery's best-known brand is Singha . 10,000 hectoliters of Singha are sold annually. Until a few years ago, Singha was the largest beer brand in Thailand when Chang Beer ( Thai Beverage ) took over the market leadership.

The following brands are also produced and sold: Singha Light, Singha Lager Draft, Singha Soda Water, Singha Water, Leo Beer, Thai Beer, Moshi Green Tea, and B-ing Lifestyle.

In 1994 Boon Rawd bought two German breweries in Hartmannsdorf (near Chemnitz) and Mittweida in Saxony , which produced Singha beer for distribution in Europe , through its subsidiary BB Group Company . Conversely, great efforts were made to sell the Mittweida brand in Thailand, but this failed. In spring 2003 the BB Group had to file for bankruptcy.

From 1995 to 2009 the brewery had its own airline PB Air . However, on December 21, 2009, the closure and liquidation was requested. In 2007 Boon Rawd became the first member brewery of the Brewery Experimental and Educational Institute in Southeast Asia. In November 2015 it was announced that the European subsidiary of Boon Rawd Brewery will in future hold a 49% stake in the German beverage manufacturer Valensina through a capital increase .
