The boat technician is an apprenticeship that is offered in Switzerland and counts among the trades . The boat specialist deals mainly with the provision, transport, handling, maintenance, repair, maintenance and winter storage of watercraft as well as the associated system and plant parts, facilities and accessories. The boat specialist also takes care of the interior of a boat and repairs.
The place of training and exercise is the shipyard directly on the water or a new workshop. The apprenticeship lasts 4 years. In the fourth year of apprenticeship, the apprentice can and must take the category A (1) motorboat and sailing test.
