Borgarey is an island in the Westfjords in northwest Iceland .
With an area of 0.4 km², it is one kilometer long and up to 500 meters wide. The highest point reaches 32 meters above sea level. The island is uninhabited but many birds, especially eiders, nest here. Borgarey is located in the Ísafjarðardjúp in front of Vatnsfjörður and the entrance to the Ísafjörður fjord .
Borgarey was also called the Orkney Island Burray by the Vikings , which means Broch Island.
