The Borgarfjörður is a small fjord in the Westfjords of Iceland .
This fjord is the northernmost branch of Arnarfjörður . Vestfjarðavegur comes from the Dynjandisvogur bay , which is adjacent to the south . It circles the fjord and continues towards Ísafjörður . The Borgarfjörður extends about 5 km into the country and is almost 2 km wide.
The Mjólkárvirkjun power station is located in the fjord . It was built between 1956 and 1958 and has an output of 8.1 MW. The local energy supplier Orkubú Vestfjarða operates it. The power plant was enlarged from 1976-77.
