Boris Salchow

Boris Salchow (* 1973 in Hamburg ) is a German composer living in the USA.

Career

Boris Salchow grew up in Hamburg. His early musical training was based on the traditions of classical composers such as Shostakovich , Mahler and Dvorak . He later composed and made music in bands, combining his classical references with contemporary influences from Aphex Twin , Squarepusher and Neurosis . Salchow composed instrumental and experimental electronic music under the artist name "Pulsenoir".

Musical work

Salchow moved to the United States in 2005. He began his composing work with advertising and film music for leading German television stations, but also Universal Studios, which started a science fiction channel with his music in Germany. He also wrote the film music for television series such as Bodyguard - Your Life in My Hand , Balko , Flemming or Wolffs Revier . Salchow also wrote the music for numerous video games, as well as for Audi and Adidas commercials .

The documentaries Germany from Above and Russia from Above , broadcast on ZDFneo, gained significantly thanks to Salchow's music, which was precisely tailored to the image content.

The music for Germany from above was partly played by the Neue Philharmonie Westfalen , which also went on tour for this purpose.
