Boris Steinberg (* 1965 in West Berlin ) is a German chanson singer and lyricist.

Life

As a member of the children's church choir, Boris Steinberg came into contact with music and singing at an early age. After completing an apprenticeship as an actor in Berlin with Margot Stein from 1986 to 1989 , engagements at theaters in Bern and Berlin took him to the Berlin chanson and cabaret scene. Like other chanson performers, Steinberg uses the stylistic device of spoken chant .

After appearing in various cabarets, he was engaged as a chanson singer in the legendary "Lützower Lampe" and sang there alongside Desiree Nick . The first television appearance in the ZDF television garden in 1992 was followed by TV portraits and invitations to talk shows.

In 1995 his first album Chansons was released with songs and couplets from the 1920s. From 1996 the work as a lyricist of my own songs came to the fore. The record company duo-phon-records released a total of seven CDs, including his “Best Of” with the most beautiful songs and ballads (2007).

His first book Alles Chanson! was published in 2008 by Geistkirch-Verlag, a collection of anecdotes and stories from the life of a chanson singer from Berlin in the early 1990s.

In 2010 the CD Wieder Sommer / Ancora Estate was released , with German and Italian songs from my own pen and cover songs; the change to the record company Timezonerecords took place in 2015 with the ninth CD "Wilde Horses in My Body"

Boris Steinberg is committed to preserving the genre of chanson and is active as an organizer: From 1996 to 2004 he directed, organized and organized the Chanson Festival Berlin; from 2008 to 2011 he organized the chanson days in the Stadttheater in Brandenburg an der Havel and from 2010 to 2017 he was the monthly host of his “Salon Chanson” in the Berliner Volksbühne.
