The Borlola River Bridge is a traffic structure in the West African Republic of Liberia . The single-lane road overpass is located in Margibi Country , about 15 kilometers east of the provincial capital Kakata . The bridge is used to cross the Farmington River on the outskirts of the Liberian provincial town of Borlola (also Bolola).
An economically important road crosses this bridge, which was built in the 1985s. It was originally required for the transport of tropical timber and leads from the Gibi Mountains (main town Waung) westwards to the Central Liberian main road Monrovia - Kakakta - Ganta . The area lies on the northern edge of the Firestone plantation and is used by extensive rubber plantations .
Since the civil war, which prevented any maintenance of the bridge, the structure has been badly worn out and was therefore listed by the government of Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in an action plan for infrastructure improvement.
