The Borneo slow loris ( Nycticebus borneanus , Syn .: Nycticebus coucang borneanus ) is a wet-nosed primate from the genus slow loris , which occurs in the south of the island of Borneo , after which it was named.

features

The Borneo slow loris reaches an average head-torso length of 26.1 cm and resembles the other slow loris in its body shape. Characteristic features of the species are the color and shape of the dark brown face mask around the eyes, which is mainly round, but above the eyes has a diffuse-angular shape. The face mask does not reach down to below the zygomatic arches . The "crown" (crown patch), the part of the face mask that extends to the top of the head, is often round, but sometimes also designed as a band. There is a variable, wide, white stripe between the eyes. The ears are hairy, the colored band in front of the ears is wide.

distribution

The Borneo plumplori lives in central southern Borneo south of the Kapuas and east to the Barito , but not in the extreme southwest. Type locality is the region of the Sakaiam River in the District Sanggau in western Kalimantan . The distribution area probably partially overlaps with that of Nycticebus bancanus .
