The Borochoro is a mountain range in the west of the People's Republic of China in the northern part of the eastern Tian Shan . The western end of the mountain is in Kyrgyzstan .

The Borochoro lies between the catchment areas of Ili (in the south) and Lake Ebinur (in the north). It extends over a length of 250 km in a west-east direction. Its maximum altitude is 4500  m . The mountain range consists of crystalline and metamorphic rocks from the Precambrian and Paleozoic Era . The eastern part of the Borochoro Mountains is a glacier and has an alpine character (around 50 glaciers). Steppe vegetation dominates the mountain slopes up to 1800  m . Between 1800 and 2800  m there is a zone with meadows and spruce forests. The alpine flora emerges above this. The snow line is also at this height. Sayram Lake is in the western part of Borochoro .
