The Sayram Lake ( Chinese 塞 里木 湖 , Pinyin Sàilǐmù Hú ) is an outflowless mountain lake in the Mongolian Autonomous District Bortala of the Uyghur Autonomous Region Xinjiang in the People's Republic of China .
The lake is located in the far west of the Borochoro Mountains, a mountain range in the east of the Tian Shans . It is not far from the border with Kazakhstan , about 100 km west of the city of Jinghe . It has an area of 454 km² and is at an altitude of 2073 m .
Sayram Lake is located in the Sayram Hu National Park .
