The Borowkow-Florow BF-D was a fighter aircraft project of the Soviet designer Alexei Borowkow and his design team of the OKB -207.

development

The BF-D is a single - seat low - wing aircraft with a retractable nose wheel landing gear . An M-71 with 2000 hp, a water-cooled upright twelve-cylinder engine , was planned as the drive . Installed in the cell behind the pilot, it was supposed to drive a pusher propeller. There were also two ramjet engines , each to be housed in one of the two tail unit carriers.

The cantilevered wings should have a leading edge sweep of 20 °. The cell was made in a shell construction. Two 37 mm NS-37 and two 20 mm SchWAK were planned as armaments .

The project was processed as urgent in early 1941, but had to be discontinued at the end of June 1941 due to the rapid advance of the German troops when the design office was evacuated. There was no resumption of activity because the design office was formally dissolved in 1942.
