The Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings were an arena football team from Bossier City, Louisiana that played mainly in the af2 , but also in the Arena Football League (AFL). The Battle Wings played their home games in the CenturyTel Center .
history
The Battle Wings were founded in 2001 and started in af2 . The first few years were more than unsuccessful. Five times in the first six years, the Battle Wings ended the season with a negative record. Only in 2002 were there more victories than defeats.
It wasn't until the 2007 season that the first play-off air in franchise history was sniffed. It wasn't until the semifinals against the Tulsa Talons that you finally had to cut your sails.
When the af2 disbanded after the 2009 season, the Battle Wings reached the playoffs twice more, the franchise started in 2010 in the AFL. With only three wins from 16 games, the season ended without a doubt in the last place in their division.
After only one season, the Battle Wings stopped all activities. The franchise was sold and moved to New Orleans to become the New Orleans VooDoo .
