Bostella

The Bostella is a fashion dance . It was invented around 1965 by the French journalist Yvan Honoré Bostel in Paris and named after him.

The Bostella is danced in a group. The performers clap their hands while dancing, this step is called Allegresse . In the slow music you have to bend your knees or throw yourself down and roll on the floor, this step is called détresse or lamentation . The Bostella is a music-related dance that can only be danced to a specific piece of music.

In the film “ What's New, Pussy? Romy Schneider and Peter O'Toole danced the Bostella in 1965.
