Boston United (officially: Boston United Football Club) - also known by the nickname The Pilgrims - is a football club founded in 1933 from the English port city of Boston . The club emerged from the "Boston Football Club".
Boston United was able to win numerous amateur cups and championships, but the breakthrough in professional football failed.
Today the club plays in Conference North , the sixth English division. The club had previously played in the fourth-highest division from 2002 to the end of the 2006/07 season. If the 2005/06 season ended in eleventh place, relegation from professional football in the Football League in 2007 instead of falling to the Conference National below after financial turmoil even meant falling into the sixth division.
The club plays its home games in the 6,645-seat Staffsmart Stadium (formerly York Street Stadium).
