Botanical garden of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology
The Botanical Garden of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology is located on Adenauerring on the south campus of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). The greenhouse dates from the 1960s. In November 2017 a change of use and development of the site was decided. Mayor Frank Mentrup referred, among other things, to investigations by the State Audit Office , which classified the Botanical Garden as not economical.
One area of interest is the "primitive plants" as Australian tree fern , Gabelblattfarn , Welwitschia , Gnetumbaum , Wollemia , dawn redwood and Brotpalmfarn .
