The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in the Palácio do Príncipe Real in Lisbon

The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates is the headquarters of the diplomatic mission of the United Arab Emirates in Portugal .

It was opened on April 1, 2011 in the presence of the Foreign Minister of the Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayid Al Nahyan and his Portuguese counterpart Luís Amado .

Location and building

The embassy resides in the city palace Palácio do Príncipe Real , which was built after the Lisbon earthquake in 1755 . It is located in the Praça do Príncipe Real square in the center of Lisbon . The embassy was previously housed in an office building on Campo Grande .

A large number of other embassies and company headquarters are in the wider neighborhood, such as the embassies of Denmark, Spain, Great Britain, Slovakia and Ireland.
